A newsletter made for producers to share their updates with their audiences.
Intentionally created with customizable newsletter templates for farm CSA, local produce recipes, event invitations and harvest guides.
Phase 1 | Research
This phase is meant to find ideas for a viable digital product. This includes finding an idea, documenting where the idea came from and other examples of the product in mind.
Upon finding three viable and different ideas, it’s necessary to flush out the concepts. Who is the competition? What sets your product apart?
Phase 2 | Product Development
This phase is also split into different phases: 1) Prototyping, 2) User Testing, and 3) Refinement of the digital product.

Backlogging content
With the creation of a paid newsletter, developing a backlog of free content for subscribers to enjoy increases the value.
With some high incentive content paywalled, the free subscribers will start their membership at $5 a month or $80 annually.
Phase 3 | Marketing Plan
Creating an extensive marketing plan that goes into each feature of the digital product is the final step. Describing each of the benefits to your customers is necessary for them to see the value of subscribing to a paid newsletter.
Phase 4 | Gaining recruitment
So far, the newsletter has 10 free subscribers. Sharing the publication on my own social media channels has assisted with the growth. Going forward, I’ll incorporate it into other free newsletters through Adirondack Harvest.
