In September 2025, I presented a series of product pitches that target three very different audiences: neurodivergent journal users, small businesses, and independent creators. Each product was built around a simple premise—people need structure and clarity, but they don’t always have the tools to create it themselves. By offering low-cost, customizable templates, my goal is to make branding and organization tools accessible to everyone.
Product 1: Neurodivergent focused journal pages
Most journals are designed for neurotypical users, which means neurodivergent individuals often juggle two or three journals at once to get their needs met. This creates confusion, clutter, and a lack of continuity.
The solution is to Create tools that neurodivergents use as an insertable journal page, digital or physical. This satisfies a niche to save the user audience money, time and cognitive load. To have access to an online resource that is customizable to the user, neurodivergents can navigate their way out of spirals.
As an example: a dopamine menu is a “menu” of activities that neurodivergents can use to find an activity that creates dopamine, and cuts down on the use of social media apps. Doomscrolling is the act of continuously using social media or other online entities and consuming the persistent, excessive, and often negative media. A dopamine menu replaces the act of doomscrolling with a more positively effecting activity.
Instead of trying to fit into rigid pre-designed journals, users can design their own system. The result is one journal, one process, and a much clearer way to navigate daily life.
Product 2: Social media and promotional templates
Social media and promotional templates are something that every small business and nonprofit needs in order to grow. These templates would include a brand styleguide, social media templates for posts or reels, how-to instructions to make the most of these promotions and event flyer templates.
While creating a brand guide for each brand individually would create potentiall more work for me in the long run, it means that if done properly, that these clients would return. Regular updates to these templates for current social media trends ensure clients stay relevant.
Product 3: Substack newsletter templates
Substack is booming, attracting journalists, small business owners, and creative writers. Many newsetter writers lack design expertise, leading to poorly structured, hard-to-read or newsletters sent via gmail. The templates would be optimized for clarity, branding and higher engagement with their audiences.
This template series would include:
- Headline tips and tricks
- Paragraph and layout styles
- Header and footer language
- Customizable branding elements
- A welcome email template for new subscribers
These templates are designed not just for aesthetics, but also for Substack’s SEO. They can even be transferred across platforms if a creator decides to move away from Substack because of audience or brand growth.
Overall experience
Creating a pitch deck was easier for me to do than the market research report. This format allowed me to organize my thoughts a lot better and be able to clearly understand the product I was trying to create.
So – why templates?
Each of the products is united by one thing: structure creates freedom. Neurodivergent individuals gain clarity, small businesses build credibility, and writers increase reach – all through simple tools. Production costs are minimal, and the barriers to entry are low.
The common thread is accessibility. By meeting people where they are, whether in their journals, in their brand-building, or in their writing, these templates give them the freedom they need to be creative.
