Book 1: Winter Solstice
In the land of the midnight sun, where ruthless Vikings and shape-shifters roam free, an evil empress usurps the Northlandic Throne and suspends the seasons on Winter Solstice. “No time like the immediate, for tomorrow we may be dead, serving life and God’s people no longer. It’s in now we must take action to become the heroes of the morn’.”
E. J. Squires, Winter Solstice
Book 2: Summer Solstice:
Ailia and Soren have finally found each other, but their war against Eiess has barely begun. But before they leave, they discover that the Aesira Jewel—the key to returning the seasons back to normal—has been stolen. Ailia sails for the Southlandic Kingdom to safety while Soren chases after the thieves. What Ailia doesn’t know is that he is taken prisoner.
Lucia’s alliance with Eiess is proving a powerful one, and her hunger for revenge and supremacy grows stronger every day. Unexpectedly, Lucia meets and falls in love with a Viking who is determined to give her whatever she wants, no matter the cost.
Soren must find a way to escape and find his way back to Midgard before it’s too late.

Now that I have finished both books, I would like to review them.
Both books are very easy to read, with the reading level to be Young Adult. That being said, the word choice is confusing. Sometimes Squires will use words that seem to be from that time period, but then will have the rest of the sentence being modern age. This story is supposed to be taking place in the 800s.
